ABY flywheel fitting position?

Hi,just a quick one- does the flywheel on ABY fit in any position or it is necessary to mark the position before removal?Many thanks.

Very clever Ze Germans, I did mine last year or 2 and was amazed at this little trick with the stud pattern, very clever

And also the fact that it is quite difficult to tell which way is the right way when sitting under the vehicle.
