S2 aby Transmission noise all gears

Hi mates,

I have a noise in the gearbox in all gears in my recently bought S2. Its mostly when throttle, that I want to fix.

At the moment I am trying to understand what is it as i'm new to gearbox problems.

I would take oil sample and see how is it looks like.Do you know if previous owner did oil change on it?I know of people who used GL 5 instead GL 4 and ended up with gear box damage and noise just like yours

Previous owner is a good friend, that didnt change the gearbox oil at all. Ill check the oil, and pray to see if the noise goes down.

It's a bearing someplace. Is it rpm or road speed related.

It is Speed related, for sure.

I've been taking a look to this LINK and does not seem to be rocket science.

Unfortunately here I cannot trust any mechanic. I have rebuilt 2 engines already, but never had the opportunity to play with gearboxes.

Should I try or i'm overestimating myself?

Are special audi tools mandatory?

I have rebuilt a few now. You can make the tools you need easily. Have a look at the gearbox threads I put up.
