ABY and ADU gearbox

What is the difference between the S2 gearbox (latest with wide 1st gear) and the RS2 gearbox?

Even more is there any difference between the ABY and ADU in the flywheel, pressure plate, clutch and gearbox assembly?

there can be some differences witht he flywheel and clutch, we found this out a while back. Im not sure where the change came though. one flywheel used the whole face for the clutch. the other had an extra ring on the flywheel and the clutch went inside of this lip.

Also as you have said the early s2 boxes had a narrower first gear until later where it was the same as the RS2

So if I find an RS2 gearbox it should be a nice fit on the ABY. Maybe have to swap pressure plate and clutch but that's it correct?

AFAIK RS2 has slightly longer 6st speed. 0.71 vs 0.73
Other ratios are the same.

I'm not 100% on this but this is what I think.

No no. Same ratios on 6th gear. The longer 6 was used in S4/S6.

ABY and ADU clutch are the same,
ABY and ADU flywheel are the same
6th gear ratio is also the same 0.73

I can't quite remember the details but wasn't the 1st gear uprated or strengthened or something in the later models of the RS2?

Yeah. 1st gear is wider and the shaft is thinner IIRC.
