Audi no longer sell rear differential shaft oil seal 017 525 400A. I found a rear differential seal on 034 motorsport site. The part number is 017 525 400C. Will this seal work instead?

Item 18
400A is for the rear diffs with the diff lock. It is NLA according to GVAP. (Item 18 in the diagram) 400C is for the EDL rear diffs in 1996 and 1997
Depends if you have a locking rear differential or not. The 017525400A has a larger opening than the 017525400C because the left rear diff flange has a larger effective shaft diameter than that of the EDL (non-locking rear diffs). So 400A is for the rear diffs with the diff lock. It is NLA according to GVAP. (Item 18 in the diagram) 400C is for the EDL rear diffs in 1995.5 (USA), 1996 and 1997. My RS2 has the diff lock and you can still get hold of 017525400A from Audi Tradition although it appears that I could have bought one cheaper from autohausaz
