So after a spirited launch the other day I blew some part of my clutch and the car will be going to 034 next week (I'm very lucky they are only 20 miles away).
Will likely get the Spec 3+ clutch. This is my daily driver, so hoping for not too much of a change. Unknown clutch & flywheel, 6 spd conversion by PO.
Since the car will be on the lift, hoping to sort another problem I've had for a while. My 1st gear was notchy and hard to get into from a stop. I really never down shift into 1st as the rev / speed lockout seemed to prevented most casual attempts.
Looking for some advice, before I send the shop on a witch hunt.
It seems that trouble selecting 1st from a stop would lead to a linkage issue. (a lot of times if I just let off the clutch a slight bit it would fully engage the gear, then I would be full on the clutch again at a stop, ready to go).
Would the downshift issues lead more to a synchro issue?
No noises or other issues. Getting the short shift kit installed as well, so this may get sorted out, but would like to know before going in, if there is issues afterward.
Thanks!
