    Short shift for urS4/6

Just fitted the first UK kit from Richard Hoffman (Billzcat1), it lives up to the claims that it reduces throw by 30%.
Very easy to fit, everything is done from the interior, not by crawling underneath as needed on some other kits available.
Also fits the ur quattro, I have done this also.

The plastic bit on the left is the original flismy piece of cack that Audi used.

Mmmm, looks very tasty. I take it has the reverse lockout still intact. What's the retail price on that Corey, if you don't mind me asking? How soon can I get one is the next question?

    Cheers,

    Graeme.

I've seen guys talking about these short shifters in other places. What it gives to a car apart more weight ? From name it should somehow make shifts faster, however I don't understand how.

What has been improved after installation of this thing ?

This modification makes gear stick travel distance shorter (and looking at the picture I think it is adjustable) - maybe this helps to shift faster.

The distance the shift lever travels and the feel of the shift.

Don't know, but for me it seems, that clutch pedal travel is too long, not the gearstick.

But thanks for making things clear.

Of course I'm using typ85 with 016 gearbox.

If the clutch disengages toward the top, there's no need to press the pedal the rest of the way. Of course, that doesn't help if it doesn't disengage until the last part of the pedal travel.

Do you think he would be interested in making one to fit my dads Merc Vito van?

nah no joke. He was telling me that you can go into corners doing a ton and just have to trust the TCS to get you round the corner. has a chipped 2.2cdi engine in it same as they use in the E class.

I am sure he would but only if he has a vehicle to do the prototype on, did they sell this van in the states?
                          Fancy a holiday/world tour?

Reverse lock? does not affect it, everything still works the way it should.
