"Weak" front driveshafts from small motor saloon FWD or Quattro.
33 inner splines: 100mm inner CV originally but 108mm possible (VW T4/T5).
30 outer splines: originally small outer CV with 33 splines, 75mm bearing. Medium/large outer CV possible (audi 100 C4 with weak engines).
Lengths: 521 & 535mm.
I'll add some more info.
1.6 & 2.0 8V FWD have:
33 inner splines: 100mm inner CV
30 outer splines: originally small outer CV with 33 splines, 75mm bearing.
2.0 16V & 2.3 10V FWD have:
28 inner splines: 108mm inner CV
30 outer splines: originally small outer CV with 33 splines, 75mm bearing.
2.0, 2.3, 2.6, 2.8 quattro front driveshafts are the same:
33 inner splines: 100mm inner CV
30 outer splines: 2.0 and 2.3 = small outer CV with 33 splines, 75mm bearing. 2.6 and 2.8 big outer CV with 38 splines.

hmm, still "hard" to get a understanding of what combinations that may be good
but,
on the road to get there here I've got another challenge :
below is a img of a rear shaft from a 93' 2.6/2.8 A80Q Avant :
the outer CV didn't get off by the "normal" approach so I attached it with a angle-grinder ...
but, still got a problem, all outer CV's I've dismanteled so far has had it's secure-ring on the outer-part but here it's on the inner part of the shaft.
How do I get this off ??? outer.jpg
Unless someone comes up with a good solution the next step is propably to make two diagonal cut's on oposite sides with the angle-grinder, not completely down to the shaft itself but close enough to ram it with a hammer/chisel and crack it
or,
anyone got a more "human" solution ?
You need to compress the circlip and hammer off. If there is damage to the clip you will struggle. Then as you say, careful cutting with a thin disc is the only way. I've had to do this twice.

guess it's a damage to the clip as the cv didn't came off the "normal" way ...
so, compress, not expand ?

Now, it was a while ago when I did mine. Not 100% sure thinking about it. Some are compress and some are expand. You should be able to see if you spray some cleaner in there.

According to the factory manual you need to spread the circlip whilst simultaneously screwing in an M16 threaded of the VAG 3207 tool to press off the joint. It may be possible to just use an M16 bolt to do this. HTH.

No need for any special tool, I've always only used the original bolt and up to this date it has worked for me
For now neither VAG 3207 or org bolt can be used anymore as I've removed the outer part (see pic above).
I've tried both expanding and compressing the clip and pulled with a 3-leg puller but no success
so guess I'll have to attach it with my angle grinder ...
Ah yes, come to think of it, I've actually used the original bolt myself in the past and had completely forgotten about it.
