So this is very urgent now.
Will my sachs racing organic disk work with brand new stock LUK pressure plate?
I can't see why it shouldn't. I know stock Sachs PP works with racing disk.
But what about LUK PP?

Jep, company in estonia does that thing. Dunno what or how material comes from but we have cars running 600nm with thise clutches and after all pressure plate is the one that needs to be strong/durable.Leave a comment:

no, i have a resurfaced disk. it cant be good for long.5 years is sufficient.
both cylinders were replaced at some point. pedal feel is normal. I am wondering if the clutch have somehow received some oil or hydraulic fluidLeave a comment:

Well mine is flat and reinforced aan disc. Anyway torque should be 400nm—500nm. And gearbox is o1a.
Clutch kit was new original Luk, only i took the disc and got it reinforced.Leave a comment:

oem non reinforced sachs disk?
it was slipping from day one for me. the remanned luk was way better but it is starting to go now as well
is your clutch disk flat surfaced one or padded ?
this is not the real thing but that is what i mean by flat surface

and this is padded

that sounds promising
does not sound too expensive either. But the big question remains, is ZF SRE organic disk going to give me the result that you have?
new stock 3b pressure plate costs peanuts as well.Leave a comment:

New AAN pressure plate, reconditioned AAN disc with reinforced pads and 3b flywheel. Im running on rs2 setup with 1.9 boost and still holds good even after multible launches on coupe q.Leave a comment:

Somewhat reinforced 3b clutch pressure plate
Hi there
I wasn't sure where to post it, under questions or here under Wanted but here it goes.
I have a 200 20v 3b with weak clutch -very badly slipping atm.
I purchased the car in 2009 and changed the oem LUK clutch (was holding okay so it was more as a precaution). Then the **** would hit the fan. The new clutch was sachs - it was never strong enough. Slipping most of the time. My best guess was that the surface of the disk was flat and not padded. So I have sold the set and got my old luk clutch resurfaced - new friction material and springs. Not expensive, so i thought I would give it a try. It worked perfectly. Until last year. It did have that annoying vibration but god i was happy - it wouldn't slip.
Now this is starting to go as well.
What do I need for a semi stock 3b? It has a tuned software that boosts to approx 1.3bar. Stock is too weak at this point.
But the setup is not too powerful for some racing clutch either.. What kind of setup i am looking at?
At this moment i can get a barely used Sachs Racing Organic disk for €100 which is a steal. So I am definitely going with this disc.. But what about a pressure plate? My 25 year old pressure plate is not a consideration. A brand new stock pressure plate with SRE organic disk? Would this hold the power?
SAchs sre market their products as 15% over stock which is unbelievably small difference. But does that apply to the organic disk, sintered disk or either of them WITH sre pressure plate? Disk itself gives what, 5% increase? No way.
Then there comes the price. I would not be happy to pay 325€ for SRE pressure plate (yes that is what i can get it for) and 100€ for organic disk to get just a slight increase in transmittable torque.
The ting is, i need a slight increase in transmittable torque, but is there way I am not paying a premium price for it (425€ can really buy you a proper motorsport clutch)
Any ideas what I am looking at? My assumption is 260hp and approx 350nm of tq. But my car is heavy at 1600kg
I am even considering used parts.Tags: None
