Dif drain plug, fooking solid. At the point where I'm going to break through the wall of the hex on the plug??
Welding a nut/bolt to it will heat it and hopefully get it off I'm thinking?
Anybody have any ideas of other ways to tackle this??
Thanks.
John.
i am with Monkeymagic..... heat. heat the CASE around it slightly. not too terribly much heat, not glowing but make it so you dont want to touch it. do it in stages, try it and if it dont bust free do it some more. a breaker bar, and a hammer to tap on the breaker bar as you turn it.
if its in the car still its even easier as you do not have to hold the diff.
Did my gearbox and diff oil the other day, John and heat was the only
way that diff plug was going to come out!
Jobs done now and the Helmet is now in for
a front end respray to eliminate all those nasty little stone chips. Will get some photos up when I collect it mid week . .
