Audi 80 4,55 rear diff questions

I have a 80q with 4.55 final drive but the trans wont hold so im gonna change to 01e 4.11 finaldrive.
The problem i that rear diff 4,11 i impossible to find.

Is it possible to put the diff from a s4 2,2t in the diffhouse of the 80?

    Best regards

It would help if you bothered to tell us what year and which engine (originally) were in your "80q"

A 1989 for example came with three different rear diffs, two were 4.11:1 and one was 4.55:1:

The bits that go inside the housing for those three options are shown here:

    http://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+80+.../525-50000/#17

While the Item 1, "differential housing" PN 017525121A was used in a lot of locking rear diffs, including the UrS4s, the ring and pinion for a 1989 AEC or ARS rear diff, PN 017525143K, does NOT transfer to the UrS4. I suspect that the pinion shaft is much shorter in the Audi 80q application than the UrS4. Maybe. By the time you get to the B4 Audi 80q, the gear sets are the same as the UrS4.

If only you mentioned the year/engine/etc.

      Its a 1989 that i believe had a 2,0 l 4 cyl orginal,now its aan.
      It has 4.55:1: final drive.
My tought was to have the housing and pinion from the 80q and mount the ring from the s4 inside.

A least I guessed right. (Luck not skill ) Ring and pinions are matched pairs, you can't mix and match.

That's so strange to hear. A 4.11 diff from any 90 B3 with 5cylinders is the easiest to find option in my country and nearby.
