Hi. My friend just upgraded his Dacia (Renault 12) to quattro drivetrain from a 7a coupe quattro and i am just curious what is the average output that this gearbox can handle? He is running an ABF with gtx30

I think its officially rated to something like 310Nm - it will handle more for sure, but an 01E is stronger... and an 016 is stronger again.
Dacia / quattro hybrid - fairly mad idea. My Dad used to have a Renault 12 in the seventies - metallic brown - horrible old thing but I suppose they have their own character.Paul Nugent

That gearbox will not last long if the car is driven hard, but if treat sympathetically should do OK for some time

I insisted to go to 01E route but he is a bit stubborn. It will be used ocasionally on drag races so i don't think it will last too long
We also have a RWD Dacia that will be upgrated with an mid engine I5 with 01E

Well on drag launches I give it maybe one or two days before it grenades

Hard launches from stading still, will kill it. But pulls from a moving start is ok.Comment

Hard launches is not so good no, but full throttle in 3rd 4rd and so an gives higher torq on internals.
Before i upgraded i had many launches (not slicks) on 01a vith the v8 engine one it, no problem, but it was on the dyno i killed it in 4rd gear, at about 600nm to the wheelsComment
