    UrS6 - Clutch Alignment Tool - Suggestions

    Hi,

I'm going to replace the clutch on my UrS6, but haven't done similar job on this car before, and so I'd be grateful if someone could recommend a link to the correct clutch alignment tool, as I'm doing this job on the driveway and want to ensure that the new clutch is "micron" perfect to make it 'easier' to get the gearbox back into position after fitting the new clutch.

    Thanks.

Some of the clutch kits come with an alignment tool. Have you bought the clutch kit already?

Sincerely hope you have a gearbox lift for that task on the driveway - or the Incredible Hulk on standby to help with lifting duties.

I was going to volunteer to help but i might be busy that weekend

I do have an engine support beam which may be helpful to support the engine with the box out. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331858106609

Also have a clutch alignment thingy...

Thanks Mark, I'd certainly like to borrow the alignment tool.

I've bought a transmission holder that goes into a trolley jack, and have some other jacks and stuff that will make it 'handier'.:roll eyes:

I managed to switch out the crosshead nut on the power steering pump that had been weeping for months, as it started to leak a lot, too much to drive, so it is great to have a dry power steering pump, even though that it is the norm.

Looking forward to having a light new clutch and being able to select gears with ease.

It's always worse before it gets better with these cars.
