Hope so. Swapping out gearboxes single handed on the floor of your garage is NOT fun.

No!!! That' a sod of job on the deck, did one with Tristan a few years back, never again!!!!

Got a clutch to do for Ray (bilko0795) soon but I'll be using my pit, would stll rather a two poster, makes the job a doddle, reckon I could do one in a morning start to finish with air tools and lift,

That's total piss flaps regarding the clutch, I'd be fuming

Will an SRE friction disc fit? If it does thats the route I'd be taking.

You should come give me a hand Kit. I can add "dropping a gearbox on your face" to your list of recent injuries

BTDT as well mate with Southbend, running one of their clutches for 3-4k miles which ****ed itself, also well within torque rating, and just outside of the 2yr warranty, not that that'd have counted for anything. They are complete ***** when i communicated with them also... never again, and ill recommend to anyone else not to bother with them.

Hmmm, seems like there are a load of early failures out there.
Well they emailed me back today asking for pictures / video. Not sure what good it'll do since its so long since I bought it. Will see what they say. Will be fitting the SRE disc regardless.

Strange I love my Southbend clutch it is been true a lot of abuse with no problem at all. And I'm pretty sure I have more power than the clutch is rated for

I guess they have some quality control problems.

It was a spec clutch I had disintegrate within a few miles and they wouldn't stand over it at all. I had used a south bend clutch for a few years without issue and actually have it in storage and would use again on an rs2 output car. I only changed it to the sachs racing sintered clutch as I needed the torque holding capacity for my urq.

So Southbend agreed it was ****ed and offered me $150 off a new friction disc... we're in the process of debating which disc I have because they think it's a stage 2 disc whereas I bought it as a stage 4 disc. Not sure I'd buy another one anyway TBH.

I've bought an SRE disc to fit anyway. Hoping it will land this week so I can make it to ADI

Well that's much further than i got!

All i had was simple short replies quoting full prices with full postage, and despite my attempts no discount on price or postage

I also went SRE and had no problem afterwards.

The SRE's are bullet proof. I'd stick one in and forget about it. There's been loads of mixed reviews about other products like Spec, Southbend, Clutchnet, etc. Sachs obviously have excellent quality control and top notch materials. The sintered plate is awesome but does take some getting used too. I'm going for the organic lining when mine wears out amd hopefully it will still take some hard launches.
