01E swap into a 1990 quattro 01A

I have a 01E CBD trans out of a 1995 S6 that I want to put into my 1990 90 20v Quattro. The trans mounts look different and won't interchange between transmissions. I have seen the 01E in the S2, so there should be mounts available to do this swap. What am I going to need?

Either use an S2 (ABY) front subframe and mounts, or cheaper, get mounts made up to adapt the 01E to your original 7A subframe. I have carried out this mod on 2 cars, PM me if you get stuck, and I'll give you a more comprehensive list of what you need to buy / adapt.

You can also use the subframe off a B4 90Q. Same as the ABY subframe. But that is just the start.

Hey Crazy, if you live in Europe it should be farily easy and cheap to locate a subframe. S2 mounts shouldn't be all that expensive either. That way it would just bolt right.
