We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
according to the workshop manual i have for an audi 80/90 this is the two pin plug on the top of the gear box (quite a big plug but only two pins)which the manual calls a multi fuc. sender switch so its not the speed sensor as that is near the drive shaft output on the left hand side(looking from the front)
The reverse light switch is in the same place (ish) as the speed sensor you can see by the shaft, but on the other side of the gearbox and 'leaning forward' at a 45 degree angle.
