  • Tyre confusion

Maybe it's because it's been a long day, or that I am currently relagated to driving a 1.6 TDCI Focus (long story but I have to put 2000 miles on it in the next couple of weeks) but I was told in the past that I had to have Z-rated tyres on my S2, but when looking the various tyre sites I get the impression that W rated seems to be ok, either that or there are not many Z's around

    Can anybody shed some light

W upwards should be fine, its very unlikely you will ever reach/exceed 168mph in an S2

I'll shoot at that then, 168mph is the new target!!!

It's interesting that ZR doesn't actually have an upper limit stated. W or Y tyres will both be sufficient for a typical S2.

Because ZR is the old standard superceeded by W and Y rated tyres

Wonder, what's the speed rating designation for the tyres on the Veyron?!
