  • Will Audi S4/100 16" Avus alloys fit an S2?

I have bought a set of Audi S4/100 7.5" x 16" Avus alloys. I have just assumed they would fit an S2. As I have re-painted them I hope they are suitable for an S2.

Can anyone set my mind at rest please?

They have Uniroyal Rallye 340 tyres, are they any good?

I have 4 stud hubs and will be swapping to 5 stud hubs by the way!

David, take a look at this US site:

    http://www.urs4.com/technical/wheels.html#avus

Pretty sure what you have are the ET37 Avus which are damned close to the ET35 wheels on the later S2 and therefore should be fine.

Thank for the link Jim, the wheels have a convex centre cap embossed with the four rings. Which is listed as URs S6.

They look fine and the extra 2mm should not make a lot of difference. There is plenty of room round an A8 disk and Porsche 993 carrera caliper.

The Avus alloys fitted to the S2 are ET37. The link provided by Jim even quotes the part number of the S2 alloy 895 601 025 M.

Audi 100s used different tyre sizes so you'll have a different rolling radius. Other than that there should be no issues

Good point the tyres are 205 / 55 / 16, I think the S2 is 205/50/16. This is helpful for my Coupe as the gearing is a little low.

First gear disappears very quickly. and I need a 6th gear as well. Just need to watch the speedo.

Those tyres are correct - 205/55x16.

Sounds like you've bought S2 wheels

S4 wheels are the same part number as ABY S2. The difference was that while the S2 has 205/55r16 tyres the S4 has 215/50r16. Rolling radius is 1.7% out.

The original 20V wheels have 205/60 15 tyres and the new ones are about 1/2 inch (12mm) taller in rolling radius. I was told the wheels were from an Audi 100 S4.

My coupe came with the option of 225/50 15 tyres this made the grip better but the handling was more soggy!

Thank you for putting my mind at rest I need to throw the hubs on and sort the Big brakes..... that'll take about 5 minutes.

They do look good now that they're back from the painters
