  • Anyone machine their 73.1mm RS2 hubs to Porsche specs?

I picked up a set of Porsche Turbo Twists and I know I need to increase the bore to 73.1 before I can fit them to my RS2. I'm not sure I'm going to keep them long term so I was thinking of maching my hubs down to 71.5 instead. That way if I can sell them back to a Porsche owner when I'm done with them. I can also fit any other Porsche wheels in the future.

Has anyone attempted this before? Are there any concerns with maching the hub tabs?

Here's a photo of the RS2 hub for reference. I'd need to remove 0.8mm from each of the three tabs.

To do so you'd likely be taking the hubs off the car for machining, no?

Can you not find a Porsche hub that will fit your car, and be plug'n'play with most Porsche wheels without having to machine anything?

That way you can save the OEM hubs for later, just in case.

I was hoping to grind the hubs down without removing them. I believe these hubs are specific to the RS2 as the bearings are typical Audi bearings. Not psitive though.

Wouldn't it be far easier to machine 0.8 off the wheel instead?
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...

I’d like to be able to try several sets and It would be a lot easier to machine the hubs once than machine every set of wheels to get them to fit. That would also make the wheels all but unsaleable back to a Porsche owners.

Gotcha.... Thought you just wanted to fit a set of Porsche twists...
