I use R888's. So far so good, even in the wet

Yeah, R888´s are well known for it´s good handling in the wet (for an R-tire)

I saw some 18" cut slicks on piston heads for £80 each maybe worth a try?

Slicks are good, but i would not step up from street tires to slicks,

Because when you loose the grip with slicks, you´re lost, if you not are an really good driver! HELLO ARMCO

( that why im only using my slicks to muckup the suspension and move the car )

I have a set of Pirelli Corsa's to try out, they have some good write ups. Although not good in the wet.

I have pirelli corsas with additional rain channels cut in them. Only used them once but they were considerably better than my Dunlop SP SportMaxx (street tyres at the time). I've ogt a cracked carcass on one though so need to get a replacement.

P-Zero Corsas, only tried them on the road (so cold) and they were fine in damp conditions, they only fall over if you're in lots of standing water and even then a road tyre at high speed would struggle...

R888s (underzised fior the car) 235/40x18 on my rs4 at 470bhp and drove to the ring with them on, 16 laps (best of 8m39) and drove back and half worn.

My previous set R888 for my S2 lasted 45laps at the Ring, 3000km driving back and forth, and one trackday with ~30laps at Rudskogen (225/40-18)

On our BMW e30 325i the R888's lasted 75 laps at the Ring this summer (205/50-15)

sounds good guys, cheers for the feedback...

I'm thinking I will run 888s in 225/50s on the 16" avus on track then

I think I will either get another set or some nice wheels for the street and use the ones i've got for track work

Good call. There are some budget track day tyres available at the mo, Kumho V70 are supposed to be OK too. I got a good price for R888s off Reyland.
