Hi guys some of you might know i also have a skoda octavia vrs with just a little bit more power than standard
the question is, as its the first fwd car i`ve ever owned what performance tyres would you recommend ive read a few reviews and Michelins seem very popular but there is so many variations Any help and previous experiences would be great as im in need of some in the next couple of weeks

My Octavia is on contisport contact 5 and it is sooooooo much better than the pirellis it arrived new to me on. I've been so impressed with wet and dry grip, I've just shod the s2 in the same! Same 2ltr tdi engine as the vrs just I have the old man elegance spec to get the £20 year road tax as a trade for 0.5sec in the 0-60 time

      Cheers
mines the 2.0tsi petrol vrs, 😆 it came with contact 4s on, and not really impressed with them.
But It is a smidgen under 300bhp 😈😈. So looking at something more performance orientated.Which pirellis is did you have I'm looking at the supersports but £135 a corner is a bit steep

the pirelli's on it were the nero's from memory. Ok in the dry but noisy in comparison to the Conti's and I thought really poor in the wet/damp, front wanted to just wash out with understeer.

Did you have the contact 4's from new and what size?

I'd go for Goodyear Asymmetric 2's from experience a superb tyre dry of filthy wet and not noisy.

Car was 3yrs old but tyres had only done 1500 miles the bill was with paperwork, size are 225x40x18 on 7.5 rims prices range from £135 for supersports and between 100- 120 for everything else decent

http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl - pricing fitted for premium brands, should be much less than £120-130 per corner!

My missus cracks me up... she looks at her wagon the other day and asks me to check front right as it feels a little soft... looks fine to me dear, but I go to prove it with a pressure gauge and its like 0.2bar lower than the other side. WTF is that about ??? Mad stuff Ted.

Maybe she's neglected to tell you she's a "touring car race driver"?!
