  • B3 1.8t swap tacho wiring

Hey. New to the forum. I recently did a 1.8 t swap in my 90 coupe 3a. Could someone help me with the easiest way to get the RPM working. I've got the original IC a diesel with autocheck. The engine is awt with full harness. I have a c5 IC seems to almost fit the dash.

Pin 37 on the AWT ecu is tacho output.

T10 pin 7 is tacho input.

Thanks a lot. Don't have the pin coming out of the black conector and diagram says spare cable. Didn't bother to look at the colors

You are looking at the wrong connector.
Original 10pin one, that connects dash harness with engine/body harness.
There are 5 in a column, black, beige, blue, green etc.

In my photo is the Passat wiring. Thanks. hope to finish the interior this week. Don't know if the speedo will work. The original was 3 wires br br/ Rd bl/ sw and this one got 2. The engine seems to work very nice it had only 12 k. Next week if cooling is ok(stock radiator) hope to get it to a shop to deal with 2nd lambda EVAP and SAI

Passat wiring might not have the wire because it gets rpm reading through can bus. Add the wire and you're good to go. It's possible to get AWT completely running with no DTCs in B3/B4.
