I use the uBlock Origin extension which takes care of unwanted ads.

Ad blocker is easiest. We need to update the forum in the near future and migrate the hosting as well.

I'll have to try the adblocker programs, at times the ads make the site un-useable unless I refresh it countless times.

If you are browsing on your phone, I was using "brave" browser previous and it was a much nicer experience in terms of the stupid adds popping up than with chrome.

Maybe it will work on desktop too?

Any plans on what to use or what the plan is?

Possible to change to XenForo from vBulletin or something else?

We looked at xenforo a while back.the challenge has been for Sonic and I to find the time to test out and upgrade as we need to do incrementally to keep existing posts, attachments and back links which is quite time consuming

Ads were driving me nuts in Chrome on iOS 26.2.1. Weird but I found a simple solution was to rotate the phone to view in landscape rather than portrait and hey presto - no more pop up, or worse, full frame ads.

But is it possible to remove all the ads? what does it cost? one time fee? monthly? or do u get some profit from it? People might step up and pay a little amount one-time
