  • newbie and advice needed

    Hi there,

New to the forum, so hi

I am looking at buying an S2 (either coupe or avant) just wondering if there are any posts giving buying advice (I looked through but couldnt find any, or I was looking in the wrong place, knowing me the latter!!)

So any help or advice would be great, also aside from the obvious size is there a better one to go for? coupe or avant? or are they both the same and depends on your choice?

I would appreciate any advice or points in the right direction, I have always loved the S series cars and this really seems like an exciting choice...I am not too mechanically minded so another question is do you need to be or are they pretty reliable?

Many Thanks and looks like a great forum, look forward to joining the club soon...hopefully

    Hi

Check out S2Central for the buyers guide there - and lots of other useful information!

You don't need to be mechanically minded for S2's (or any car). There are plenty of enthusiastic and more specialist garages willing to look after them for you when it is needed, Quattronics, QST or MRC for example (in no particular order, no connection).

Are they reliable? Depends on your point of view. I think they are - but you do need to remember that even the youngest is now 10 years old - at that age some things will need replacing at some point. That would be true of any make/model though - not just an S2 - albeit possibly later on an S2 than some less well built cars.

    Best of luck!

    Ck.

PS Sorry - noticed you were in the USA after putting the garages in the above
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

Hi Thanks, wow thats some buyers guide!!!

Some very good points, I am going to look at one of those and an S4, I know totally different but somehow, again convinced myself I can afford more than I can on my downsizing goal :-) yeah not sure why it shows USA will need to change that, Im in London. Some great info, hopefully test drive will go well tomorrow... watch this space!!
