  • Hello!

    Hello all,

been directed here by a mr Peter B (PeteRR). I'm Jay and 20yrs old from cheshire in the UK (near manchester airport) and I own a 1986/7 pearl white UR quattro which is 10v (soon to be 20v hopefully).
I've removed the 10v lump due to needing manifold and turbo etc. but price wise it seems more economical to buy and fit a 20v (RR,ABY,3B) engine myself.

    thats me

AAN has the simplified intake path and was the last version of the 20v 5pot lump from an S4/S6 IIRC.

You've got a great car and a cracking colour on a UR there mate!!! Good luck and post up some piccies

As your car is an '86 you will not need the cats in the exhaust which as an added bonus relieves back pressure and gets you a bit more hp.
The only difficulty will be the wiring but it isn't that hard to do. If you have the AAN inlet manifold also do a search for a forum (JAAP) members car he put a AAN into a WX (basically the same as your WR) and used a front mounted intercooler. Very effective

arrrr mr corey i have heard of you
Well i'm waiting to hear back about this engine but if its not down on power in comparison to ABY and other 20vT lumps then i'm game

Did he use the FMIC where the AX rad goes or the original WR/MB/RR fitment???
I'm not looknig at tuning yet as its a case of get it running iron out problems then speak to tim at QRSport and a few other places about possiblities...

              cheers for replies so far

                  Its all good corey
I was told to speak to you about EFi for my 10v but as i stripped engine down and deemed it worth more in parts i'm now going 20v turbo anyway.

Will use your expertise on the 20v conversion though as electrics is my weak point of mechanics

                    ah thats ok lol.

If I can help I will, if I can't then there will be someone here that will, shame you got rid of the 10v though, they make some really nice hp when you have efi strapped to them.
