Hi there guys and gals, recently aquired my 1994 s2 avant after a string of Golf GTis and a VR6 ( all 5 door ). Its more practical as my car is our second car ( 3 kids = Galaxy as main). The s2 has been bought as a rolling project ( VR had 200+ brake ) and im looking for 300 odd brake from it ( whilst a full respray is booked for next spring). So as its knocking out 230 brake now where do i go ? what do i buy ? your help and advice and wisdom will be most appreciated. K7 SON black avant drove down my road last week, looks good, are you local? Hope you guys can help the new boy.

Hi Pete, location Chichester. Nice bbs rims on your old shopper VR6. ( Bet you parked that in the parent and child spaces so you didnt get any trolley dents didnt you )! Whats have you done to your S2? Any hints, tips etc appreciated. Cheers.

Chichester - hmm bit of a trek but i used to go down to Goodwood quite often once upon a time when i lived in Dorking...
As for the S2 mine is pretty much as far as you can go chassis wise - Koni & H&R springs,Ally Subframe mounts,Poly bushed everywhere,RS2 anti Roll bars and Top mounts,new wishbones and track rod ends, Brembo 4 pots etc.
Since ive had it ive replaced all the pads and discs and a new set of F1 GSD3's.
I also had it remapped by Paul so its got something approaching the poke that it should have had from the factory as i found it Dog slow when i got it - probably from coming from a 285bhp Mk2, a 340bhp M5 and my Supercharged VR6 .
Best thing is to make sure its running right - no boost leaks etc before tinkering - lots of help on here to steer you in the right direction.

Welcome onto the forum, 300hp shouldnt be too hard. Although its very easy to get 350hp+ too

Hi thanks for the friendly welcome, Yep 300 brake is great 350 brake sounds even better ( cost dependent ). Any pointers are genuinely appreciated. Car needs a good service so plugs, lead sets, filters etc which ones are people happy with? Does anyone know a garage in the south thats good or specialises in s2 s? Anyone got any RS2 bumpers or mirrors? ( in laser red if poss, yeh like thats gonna happen ). Oh and a black rear load cover, some nice new wheels, what have you got out there? Need the rubber trims from the bottoms of the doors they are tatty. Already had some tips on suspension any other advice before i start spending my hard earned?

Best one is decide your budget for mod's after you have all the niggles fixed and stick to it.

For 350hp the usual things are new injectors RS2/equiv, RS2 Exhaust Manifold (EM), RS2/custom Intercooler, New exhaust system (optional initially but helps), RS2/Garret/KKK turbo, Custom remap. e.g. from MRC

Welcome to the world of moulten credit cards

You won't need lead sets as you run coil packs and make sure whoever services it, knows what they are looking at. You will need the correct OE plugs and tightened to a max of 30nm, otherwise you will be sorry, as a few on here will confirm.

If in doubt, ask here first. Everyone has had the problem before you .

Thanks for the tip off about the load cover. Will watch it with interest. Are you the seller? If so how much to take it off e bay? Looking to spend no more than £2k to get my power, what brake is possible for that do you reckon? Keep seeing Mr.C all the time on here, anyone had good bad experiences? Please get in touch.

Brakewise, you want to be looking for the Porsche Boxster S calipers and Audi A8 disc's. Most of us have done the upgrade and will be a ballpark (ish) £500 job

Also, one of the lads is selling some RS2/Porsche mirrors
