Really good to read all the supporting posts here. This forum seems to have escaped the 'facebook syndrome'
where everybody seems to think that they need to express their (mostly unwanted) opinions all the time.
Speaking out like this Kit, shows you want to get to grips with what's happening to you.
Hope you really succeed in getting en staying healthy!!

Good to see you back Kit!
The forum is definitely quieter than it used to be with a lot of people on Facebook mostly asking the same old questions over and over!Leave a comment:

Thank mate, that means a lot to me and I'm sorry to hear that your step son suffers from depression, and even if you've only had a mild dose of it in the past yourself I'm sure know just how debilitating it can be. Yeah, it's a bit weird really when you think about it as we have no real control over our brain chemistry, yet talking about it did seem to be a sign of weakness, whereas one can discuss breaking an arm or something with no stigma attached, though I have to say the general situation is better than it was even only ten years ago.Wow Kit! Brave post, not an easy thing to discuss so you have my admiration for that. Too many people ( mainly men) don't share 'feelings' as they think it is a sign of weakness, when actually I feel it is a strength. My step son suffers with depression and I have to a lesser extent in the past so can understand what you've gone through.
Keep taking things in small steps and praise yourself for any achievements and when things get too much just think f*ck it and go polish a car or something.
At the moment I have to be so careful of my left elbow that I can't really get stuck into anything car wise properly, every time I move it's twinges to remind me it's not happy. Which is frustrating considering my right wrist, which looked like someone had taken a sledge hammer to it is comparatively strong and totally pain free, even if it's range of movement is probably only about 30% of what it should be and I can feel the metal work. It's only been three weeks since I rebroke the elbow stupidly trying to use a cordless drill to fix my kitchen table (which I'd punched and damaged in a previous outburst), I literally felt it snap and all my fingers went numb as there's major nerves that run though it to ones hand. Still it's not crunching anymore and I simply have to give it more time.
Though as I've said I'm feeling better now mentally than I have in years, so I'm trying to stay positive and do as much exercise/physiotherapy as I can, just doing simple things like the washing up or hoovering feels like an achievement, which in my case given how rubbish I use to be at house work it really is.Leave a comment:

Cheers Kit! Yes, I will always have the satisfaction, and a great story, that I did built it in my home garage. I know that everything is like new also. Glad you have enjoyed the thread. I still need to get the pictures back. They disappeared after the forum upgrade a few years back now and without them the thread has lost it charm/usefulness. I have added a few in myself, but that is tedious and time consuming work. I need to get some small updates out there as it has been a while since I have posted anything.
Thanks mate, great to see your still here! I’ll have to find your project thread and see where your at with what was one of the most impressive builds I’ve seen, the attention to detail was really quite something. From what I gather there’s now a handful of RS2’s stateside now since the 25 year rule now allows them to be imported, you’ll always have the satisfaction of having built yours yourself from the ground up.
Again, glad you are doing better and are back on the forum. I always enjoyed your projects.....and comments

Yep, everyone seems to react differently to antidepressant's and other psychoactive compounds, I've literally just been speaking to a mental health nurse who confirmed what I already knew, that getting people with metal health problems the on precisely the right medication(s) is pretty much a game of Russian Roulette.
There's some very interesting trials going on in Canada and the Netherlands currently with all sorts of psychedelics and not just micro dosing, people can also respond well to profound experience's, in some cases it's probably saved lives. It's not actually crazy at all when you consider that human brain itself releases DMT all by itself, which is one of the strongest psychedelics know to man, all be it in tiny quantity's.
Anyway, thanks for the good wishes and good luck with the new business, I'm sure your helping a lot of people.

It's a nightmare for sure brother and trying all sorts of medication until it's right can take lots of time, hope you find life is a little better and keep improving over time there are trials now microdosing MDMA and LSD which sounds crazy but seems to be having so amazing resultsLeave a comment:

I meant to respond to this post yesterday evening but got side tracked by all the other post's and typing updates regarding my cars etc... Very sorry to hear your wife is afflicted by depression, it really is a terrible illness to have to live with and it seems to manifest itself in many forms.Hi bud glad to hear you are on the mend my wife suffered greatly from depression caused by a high stress job In the NHS she found after trying numerous medications that CBD oils really help so much so she is now back at work full time after been off for over 1 year. We now provide these oils at discount to friends and family if you're interested check out our website bud
www.curedbynature.co.uk
Hope you keep on keeping up it's real struggle for many
I've tried CBD oil, while I'm sure it's very helpful to some people in my case it's like tackling a nuclear explosion with a water pistol.
It's a field I think deserves a lot more research after years off being set back by the absolutely ridiculous 'War on Drugs', the same applies to psychedelic's which some people with PTSD and non responsive major depressive disorder find hugely beneficial.
Normal SSRI's etc actually make me worse as when I flip in one direction something causes a massive release of Noradrenaline which I have no control over, this is the fight or flight chemical for those that don't know. So I literally have fully blown psychotic episode's, where I'm immune to pain, extremely violent and quite frankly a danger to myself and those around me. Hence now being on some pretty serious medications which would totally knock most people out, while in my case they just keep me stable, I'd rather not have to be dependant on pills but I never want to put my family (or myself) through the worry and heartache Septembers events caused ever again.Leave a comment:

Nice one mate...
There's no way I'm ever getting out of S2's and old Audi's, to be honest I recon apart from safety future's most cars built after the year 2000 have gotten to complex for their own good, more and more electrical crap to go wrong, flimsy trim and stuff in the engine bay made of plastic that's bound to go brittle and break as soon as you touch it after ten years. Apart from truly exotic stuff I hate really modern cars, it's like driving an uncooperative robot.
A few months back I had decent go in one of those Toyota Yaris GR's as my Father treated himself to one, yes it handled like nothing I've ever driven and was pretty dam quick so I can see why everyone raves about them. However it still had ton's of excess electrical ******** that would piss me off no end if I was to own one myself, the centre console computer thing alone make's driving one it town difficult due huge blind spots. It was pretty impressive on the open road though to be fair.Leave a comment:

Welcome back Kit. I had wondered where you’d gone after the saga, I thought you’d just turned normal and got out of S2s all together and bought an ordinary car. It’s good to see your side bar again. Positive vibes from me mate!Leave a comment:

Ahh, nice one for stepping in and helping out mate, very much appreciated, I thought it was just my mother... But then again at the time I was to put it bluntly completely mental.Yes you certainly do/did! Kit also knows my temper, but mine is somewhat determined by my level of hunger..... I can become very angry if not fed! I seem to need about 4000+ calories a day, and can’t get above 10.5 stone! Anyway good to see some level headed posts mate. I had given up popping round because; well it was not often you were speaking much sense! I managed to sort out all refunds and orders here for you in 2019/2020 so no- one is out of pocket or waiting. There is a thread somewhere.
I’m still on the same number by the way so call sometime for a chat if you like.
And cheers for the Saloon BBS wheel, but I am afraid I want to keep the car.
Yeah, you seem to require an astonishing amount of food otherwise you descend into rage, I'm a stone and half heavier than you now at bang on 12 stone or 80KG's for our European friends and I only eat 1500 calories a day, perhaps 1800 or 2000 at a push when I'm working, anymore and I get tubby. I was getting really fat if you recall, I topped out at 15&3/4 stone in 2020 when I was drinking extremely heavily, beer is deadly especially now we're getting old.
No worries on sorting out the wheel and to be honest as much as I'd like the car back, I really don't need anymore projects, regardless you deserve to keep it just for stepping in helping out. If I find anymore bit's for it I'll let you know. Also if you want a hand working on it give me shout and I'll help for free, it would do me good to interact face to face with other humans, I've either pissed off or scared the crap out everybody else locally apart from Jim.
I'm not really one for phone call's as you know, but do feel free to call round anytime you want pretty much, tell you what I'll text you my number then you can give me a buzz to make sure I'm here as I'm often out walking in the daytime. Please don't give my number to anybody else, I still don't really like having a mobile phone so I'm extremely selective about who has it.Leave a comment:
