  • Proud new owner of a urs4

I am really excited as a first time owner of a urs4 powered by the legendary I5 20VT

Its a 30 year old car, and here in South Africa there isn't many people that have the knowledge to give good advice. I'm in the process of getting it running nicely in stock form, but already have plans to do some small mods, like a k26/7 running on prj tune and the supporting hardware. Hoping to find the necessary info/people on this forum to assist.

Great forum with a wealth of info!

I was hoping to run a prj mod and tune on my ecu, but I don't know where to start. Do I need a chip burner to write the files? It would be great if someone is selling an already modified prj ready ecu, or even a stock ecu

Looks like a certain number of posts is needed to post a wanted ad

Hopefully someone will see this an help you out.
Have you checked your ecu to see if your chips are socketed? If they are you could send them off and get the homefries chip put on them or just buy a new set of chips pre loaded. The homefries chip is a very good safe tune. Transforms the car for minimum spend. Other more aggressive tunes often required other expensive mods like higher flow injectors, bigger turbo and EM etc.

I haven't looked inside the ECU yet, thats a good start thanks.

I did a google search on homefries/homefry but can't seem to find any good source of info. I did see something about a guy named Paul?

I'm embarrassed to take pics especially of the engine bay. The wiring is still in progress

Paul Nugent invented the homefries chip and this forum I believe. He is not here very often anymore unfortunately. You could try and email him and see if he can help. S2central@mac.com
Alternatively, someone here with a copy and burner might be able to help.
