    new guy from down south

hello to all i am a new to the forum and thought i'd introduce my self to you all.
i'm mark i have a 91 3b coupe which i have had for the last 5 or 6 years but it's not very well at the moment and i am getting withdraw symptoms of not being able to drive it. wasn't having much luck finding parts and don't really want to sell an arm to the local audi dealer or ur quattro specalists up the road, thought this would be a good place to start. and i must say it's looking great some really good links and info. thanks guys

    mark

Welcome Mark im sure the gurus on here can point you in the right direction to get
your S2 back to full health, what are the problems and symptoms .There does seem to be
lots of common problems with these S2s and some not expensive and difficult
    to rectify

If its audi or S2 related, your in the best place

Who's your local specialist - AM Cars? I think you probably have 2 local....Audiman on here knows a thing or two about how to break....and then fix minor and major s2 parts http://www.rcmr.co.uk/

Good luck getting it back to it's best!

hi guys thanks for the worm welcome. yes i am from somerset i live out in the sticks a couple miles from taunton. you are right my local specialists is am cars have a friend who works there and a friend who used to work there. the main problem with my car is that i went up the back of some one with a tow hitch and now need a new bumper, crossmember and intercooler. intercooler isn't much of a problem as i was going to up grade to an rs2 one just the other bits is taking some time. at the moment i seem to be taking more off than going on. and the £5000 quote from A M you can see why i am not keen on going that route. any way on the plus side my new rs2 exhaust manifold turned up today

Hi Dennis. It's about time you found your way here. I think I've waved up to you enough times.
It's time Shaun got himself on here too, he might have more luck with those parts.

5k to fix that - they must be having a laugh there unless there's lots more to it than the bumper, intercooler & xmember that you mention. Reckon less than a grand myself, plus paint of course.

Welcome on board by the way... Hopefully the forum can see you throw your woes and back on the road for reasonable money soon.

My car was imported from Germany, and came via AM Cars..... still had their plates on it and a load of receipts... wasn't sure if they still existed...
Really can't see those bits costing too much, crossmember on here recently was 70 quid, intercoolers for 3B (just standard ones) are fairly common as people are upgrading - if you want a stopgap to get it running.... bumpers are around and are not that much... I reckon if thats ALL it is less than 500 quid, plus some paint, which isnt too much just for a bumper, which would be off the car anyway....
Anyway, good luck, hope there isn't anything else requiring attention, but at least you are in the right place...!
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...

Last time I went to Audi4u about 6 years ago, I got robbed by a one legged man. I learnt my lesson.
Now I take the trip the Brum for my used Audi parts, good parts at good prices, and good food around the corner too. Much better than anything Bridgwater has to offer.
