    Saying Hello

    Alrite Lads,

Just introducing myself found the site yesterday been reading a few of the threads since. Mostly the threads with newbie's like myself asking about running costs etc!

Currently driving a Corrado VR6 which i'm really pleased with but been tinkering with the idea of an S2 coupe as the 4wd and tunability appeals to me.

Are there any forum members in Northern Ireland that would like to take me a wee spin? Never even sat in an S2, would give me an idea before i sell my car.

    Cheers
    Dan

Oh and anyone knows of any good ones for sell let me know

        to the darkside.

I did something similar, although I was already an Audi nut....I traded up from an Audi Coupe with the 2.8 V6 to an S2 and although I occasionally miss the smooth lazy pull of the V6, it can't touch the S2 for pure adrenaline driving :mischeif: (on the track of course orificer )

As for any S2's on your rock, there are a few, one of whom is the supplier of the modified chips to take you from 230BHP to around 275-280BHP and loads more torques too. He also runs www.S2Central.net which has loads of info/history etc on the S2 plus some good technical stuff and modding info.

        Cheers n

            Hey Dan,
Where abouts are you? I grew up in Portrush but live in Glasgow now. My folks are in Groomsport so I'm over now and again seeing family. I have a bit of work to do on my S2 but if you haven't caught hold of someone else in Norn Oirn first i'll give you a shout and give you a go in mine.
            cheers

you have definately found a helpful forum! Not sure exactly where he is but Paul Nuggent, username S2central.net is on your side of the pond. He does a lot of generic chip work for people on here and is a very helpful chap.

Only decision now is coupe or avant, there is a friendly banter between these two factions but we are all mental about one thing, MORE POWER

                  Thanks for the welcome guys

@HPmuirt cheers for the link, good to know theres a few here! The chip is whats attracting me to the S2 to see the same output from a VR6 supercharging is required which is a big outlay compared to a chip.

@fourcircle From the sticks outside Ballynahinch been living in Belfast this last couple of years. Spent as much time at home playing football and tinkering with cars though.
That would be great love a spin in her and good luck getting her sorted.

Its the coupe that appeals to me as i don't need the space of the avant. Really like the shape, sort of similar to the corrado. Bit of banter between the 3B and ABY guys aswell.

Looking at some of the spec's seems the S2 is capable of huge power reckon a chip would be enough for me to start off with!

Have you had an insurance quote for an S2 mate? Don't think I could afford to insure one over there. I can see why you moved into town from Ballanahinch by the way. I though Portrush was a lonely existence but at least we have a couple of beaches.

If you're looking to buy an S2 I'd seriously consider an easyjet or bmibaby flight over to Scotland or England if you see something you like. Give you a good excuse for a decent run home to break it in too. If it's not a car off this forum (if it is you'll be able to find its history no doubt) then get someone that's near to hook up with you and bring VAGCOM diagnostic software on a laptop to test it before you buy. A seasoned S2forum veteran will be just the chap to test drive with you too.

That doesn't mean me by the way. i'll bring you the VAGCOM but i'm a newbie and an amateur so i'd be pressure testing it with my lips to the exhaust.

yeah checked the insurance practically the same as the corrado.

Think it'll be over to the mainland for one idealy i'd like to buy one from here rather than ebay as like you say someone will know the history.

Seen a few at money close to what i think my car's worth.

Yes someone who won't pressure test with they're lips will be helpful

It is indeed Mark, one of my favourite films, just makes me laugh at how mental he was.
