    hi all
    just bought 92 s2 57000miles completely standard.
    it is on new 205 50 16 toyo's instead of 205 55 16s.
    my calculations are about 3.5 % smaller rolling radius.
    can anyone see any problems with running these.
    thanks in advance for any help.

      Reduced ride height and comfort may be an issue. As long as all four are the same size.
      When I first got my cq20v it was running 205/40 17s. I ran those without any major problems, untill the wheels broke up after major pothole attack.

            WoW, 57k on a 92 3B, Nice

            As long as all four are the same size, no worries.

            3.24% difference in rolling radius;
            -20.5mm in diameter;
            -67.3mm in circumference;
            Speedo reads 70mph, your actual speed will be 67.73mph.

            Above grabbed from "Here"

                  I think it's been discussed before this, Some think it is, others don't
                  Personally I think it's a little flattering, GPS proved to me that an indicated 157 was in fact 151.
                  But then I think most speedos read a little high top end.
                  Up to normal motorways speeds of 75/80 and it's pretty much spot on.

                  Enjoy your new motor

                    it won't be low mileage soon with smaller tyres the speedo will be racking up more miles than you actually do

                            It's not just tyre size! Just replaced P6000s with Goodyear F1 GS D3s, standard 205 55 16 Ws. Comparing the unused spare P6000 Mark 1 with the new F1 there is a difference in diameter of about 10 mm, F1 smaller. So on the basis of JAS' data, I can expect a speed of about 68.9 MPH at the indicated 70 MPH. Will the new F1s expand a bit as they run in to increase the accuracy of my speedo?!

                            Incidently paid £268 for 4 x F1s on tyreshopper.com, fitted and balanced at local National Tyres depot. Think that takes some beating!

                            For wheel refurbishment in Central Scotland, recommend Auto Visuals at Whitecross near Falkirk/Linlithgow. Full shot blast repaint about £70 a piece. Not cheap but an excellent job, my Avus' look like new.

                            Totally original, even the 13 year old exhaust!

                              don't trust your speedo steve!
                              with 3% smaller tyres my speedo is 10% out according to gps.
                              so with standard tyres still will probably be 6-7 % off.
