Some good ideas there, particuarly like the turbo/supercharged engine.
What sort of power you looking to get out of the 10v? would it be easier to do the 20v instead as I looked into this as there is the space on the 20v plus you can fit them easy and it would boost it lower down the rev range whilst keeping the sound from the 20v lump.
Hello Acidburn!
I hope to achieve a modest 190BHP at most...fairly healthy, considering the KV has very good low end torque, adding a SC should compliment this healthy aspect of the KV to create an even more attractive package!
My thoughts on the 20v...siting the Eaton unit seems to be the major issue...smaller custom radiator, to create room to site the Eaton? It would definitely be a logical choice of engine to apply the SC to due to the serious low rev range weakness.
Does the 20v sound better than the 10v - I dont really want to get involved with that argument, but I havent heard many cars that have a sound as distinctive as the KV! Just consider the sound of a supercharged KV...
the 20v would give you a better start option plus there is the fact that its an easy swap in and the SC would help the low end. When I looked into it I was going to put a SC down where the aircon pump would sit and run it from the front pulleys. plus iirc the pipework for the inlet side is easier to use. I think there was some pictures of the engine from the front and side on www.20v.org which is a goldmine of info for that engine.
Might also be an idea to look thru the searches for supercharged 20v as there is info there and might be an idea to change your title to say supercharging ..............
I had a good 7A engine lined up from the scrap yard...the owner sold up and the new owners crushed the car before I could get it...I was as mad as a rabid dog!
