Newbie - Aberdeen

Thought i'd intoduce myself properly now i've managed to get some pics of my new Toy.

I bought this car off of Ebay a few months back, was originally only going to be used for a winter run around but, as soon as i'd picked it up and drove it home, I knew it deserved a bit of lovin...

Done a few things to sort it out already, hope you all approve

Well done on taking a chance on buying one and boy does it look like it's paying off handsomely for you. Nice to have the before and after photos. Photos really do speak volumes. Congratulations with all the hard work it looks great.

That is some good work and I like the fact as others have mentioned you've done the before and after pictures, I remember seeing the add on ebay and I bet if the owner saw it now he'd be kicking himself.

Thanks for the warm welcome lads. Acidburn, its funny, the owner was thinking about keeping it and paying for a respray. I did send him photos those photos just to let him know its in safe hands... He was kicking himself.

I paid £2.3k for it on Ebay, and the wheels/tyres its sitting on now cost me £105. I didn't get them refurbed just properly cleaned and waxed. Black grill, clear indicators and new number plates has probably cost me £60 all in.

Mileage wise, its 178k miles but it still feels tight as hell, but thats German cars for you. I've fitted a Chipped ECU already and I should have some Elipsoid headlights waiting for me at home that i bought from Sal.

Yeah remember you beating me to the headlights but glad they're going on something good, its generally the way when you get something like that then show the previous owner, still at least in this case there is a good ending with the car. My 20v I sold recently was drove by the new owner who held it too long and melted a piston so he scrapped it, considering it was a 20v quattro sport and slightly rarer it made me a bit miffed to say the least
