hi i am andrew from london 23 years old lol i currently have a mk1 golf gti but i thinking of selling her and getting an audi s2 can anyone give me the heads up on these good or bad and where to buy and what model, age best to buy ect, ect, thanks oh here a picture of my mk1 if u guys and girls like to see!

If I was you, I'd buy the best s2 Avant that I could afford, that comes up here, Pistonheads, or Autotrader or wherever else you can find one. Try to make sure it's never had a big punt, in preference to any mechanical woes.

Although with a decent budget you should have a good choice.

Summary: Decide on a Coupe or Avant , make sure it is an ABY ideally and hold out for the colour you really want. You'll have to look at it everyday and much better that you are pleased with the colour than always have a slight regret.

I'm not even going to mention anything about upgrades. Concentrate on getting the right one for you first. Post photos when you do though.

hi thank for all ur comments. just woundering the s2 coupe is a coupe and advant is an estate? if so i am after a coupe ! what a good year and modal to buy also does the colour red fad on th s2? also sorry rs2 what that? lol

Correct, the coupe is the 2 door, and the Avant is the estate.
The RS2 is the Porsche modified S2 Avant.
The S2 comes as 3B or ABY, the coupe came as both, the Avant only as ABY.
There are quite afew differences between them, but most obvious being 5speed box on the 3B and 6speed on ABY.
Spend some time reading through all the info on www.s2central.net you will learn alot from that

They are all good
Personally Id go for a later (ABY) one as it has the 6speed box, abit more power, you can get a chip for it to take it to ~270bhp, has better headlights, and is obviously newer!

As for colour, there are some very rare colours, which were known as Lifestyle colours, but dont expect to many of those around/for sale!
Personally Id rather go for a good one regardless of colour, unless there is something you hate inparticular...
