thanx for the help so far!! especially the links to s2central! very handy.

Obvious, but first check for any leaks with the coolant hoses and radiators.

I was losing the same amount of coolant and it turned out to be the aux coolant pump.

well i have recently noticed a small puddle appearing under the engine when parked - a reassuring start!! (its leaking out not in!) i'll pull the sump guard off so that i can see the area that its leaking from.

from reading up on s2 central i understand that the temperature autockeck light is supposed to alarm at 119deg? it happens to me at about 95 - 100deg and boost control appears to be turned off at the same time. as temperature decreases, and autockeck cancels, boost is however, not reinstated unless the engine is turned off and allowed to cool fully.
possibly a MFTS failiure? what other engine conditions will turn off the WGFV?

i will try the sensor modification as suggested by s2_dave.

    cheers, dan
