    Hi all

Love the forum, i am new to the Audi scene but not to VAG's as i have owned a selection of Golfs and Bora's and i am now looking to purchase a S2 Avant, i have read up on the various changes between 1993 -1996 but i was wondering if anyone has any good pointers to buying one, and anything to look out for, i am not sure what to spend as budget and i dont have loads of cash as i am selling a mk3 golf to go towards this.
I look forward to catching up with you guys, keep up the good work

that becaose VW only make good small cars and anything larger than a Bora is a bit plain and dull, and this is where Audi have got it right with thw whole S range of Estates and Saloons, they also always have looked asteticly right and well balanced...

with you on that one. Have you seem how cheap the Passat W8 4motion is now? I was looking at pistonheads on sat and there was one for£2950 on a 02 plate. That had the cogs turning!:mischeif:

It all depends, you could buy a 3b with the 220bhp and 5 speed box or go for a later ABY with 230bhp and the 6 speed. ABY's came in around 1993 and if your wanting an Avant you only get them in ABY. There is no real good year they where all great for the S2 Dont go buying the first one you see, make sure you read the buyers guide. In other words don't rush into anything as they are quite cheap at the moment but remember to have some money for running costs you'll need it. Good luck with finding one.
