Hello from NZ. New RS2 owner.

    Hello.
Great forum you guys seem to have here.

    I have just purchased a 1995 RS2:

Its done 182,000kms and has been Superchipped (dont know if I like that).
Other than the chip the car is standard (I think).

Look forward to enjoying the forum.

Nuther nice antipodean (R)S2 there... Welcome to the forum. I would lose the 'Superchips' nonsense though. I'll bet it has a thumping great WG spring and/or fugly adjustable nut on top.

                Thank you for the welcome.
                MY WG looks like this:

My car seems to "flutter" at very low RPM, why lower than my Father old standard RS2.
Could this be to do with the adjustable nut?
How did you know my car would have one?
What would you replace it with?

Hi, i saw your pics over on vask, that is the superchips method of chipping, your wgfv has been unplugged so the ecu has no control over boost so you are relying on spring pressure only. What is it boosting to? i'd reconnect the wgfv and remove that bolt in the wastegate cap and return it to stock setup if i were you.
Nice car btw, i was over in NZ at the same time as spink, didnt see many S cars, so was pretty suprised when i saw the chch rs2 a few times.

however, you cannot entirely remove that bolt. What you need to do is something like this which i have done:

in order to keep the wastegate airtight.Obviously the previous owner might not have the original screw,so something like this must be done.

I would only do anything to that wastegate unless you go for a different map(which you should do anyway,as it is dangerous to keep the car on mechanical boost only).Different map and N75 connected should be a good choise

Lets call it an educated guess - I've encountered this many times before... My advice to you is to get the WG back to standard setup and run with factory chips, or I can supply you with something spicier (yet safe) if you like... Bit trickier on the other side of the world, but my software is in a few cars in OZ & NZ so not impossible by any stretch...
