    Future S2 owner.

Hey everyone i`ve been looking at all the other intro posts and cant decide on some original way to introduce myself so i`ll just b straight forward with it. My names Kent i`m 21 from Maidstone in the south east although i`ve lived in the north Manchester/Liverpool/Lake district kinda areas for the last 2 years. I was first introduced to wonderful world of S2 ownership through Sonic whos one of the administrators. Me and a friend helped him move house (it was only next door) but he offered to buy us lunch at which his friend decided 2 jump in his WRX and give us a bit of fun on the way to town. Well having only seen the S2 from the exterior i recognised it as an Audi i`d never seen and was intrigued as the grin creapt over his face:mischeif:. He obviously knew i had no idea what i was in for.
So long story short i`m sold, i`ve never been in anything like it and despite being around motorbikes my whole life (Dad works for triumph) it was a different kindof fun.
Having discussed it at some length with sonic i realise that my getting a car with a similar spec to his is gonna be a challenge. I really just want a project car that i can pour time and effort and of course money into. I work away from home between 3-5 days a week and want something to come home to
Ideally Looking for a 94 onward Coupe Aby with about 120-140,000 miles thats obviously in good working order as i may not be able to pour cash into it straight away. Looking at between 4-5 grand is this realistic?
Anyways be interested to hear how you got your first taste of the S2 and any advice would be gratefully receieved. Thanks guys!

    Welcome to future ownership!

The words echo pretty much what I experienced! Now the proud owner of an S2 avant.

They are massively understated when looking at them and for the age a comfortable and impressive drive.

I also used to own an impreza a few years ago and as much as I loved the driving experience of the subaru the audi is so so much better as an all round machine.

My only regret is that it has taken me this long to get one!

Good luck in finding a car, there are some good ones to be had and with that budget you should get a pretty good car IMO.

Have a look thru the forsale section and check out a couple of the cars for sale, s2bug's coupe is for sale and might interest you.

Budget sounds quite good as you could get one and have a bit left for some mods, sonic/andy's cars quite a good all rounder.

I was 21 when I bought my Avant, dont necessarily rule them out either they have even more stealth/Q-car appeal.

Good luck in finding the right car for you, your budget certainly seems to allow that. Take a look on Pistonheads too, usually something of interest on there.

Hey, I have only owned my S2 for a few months and I can tell you its and awesome way to spend your money. A tip though being young (i'm 23) means your insurance will cost heaps but for me the avant was £800 less than the coupe!!! Just under 5k got me one in awesome condition with only 80k on the clock from piston heads.

            Good luck!

to the forum. It sounds like you have had some good advice and have your head screwed on.

Your budget seems about right too, so just be patience and continue with your research.

              Cheers,

              Steve.

Im glad to see you finally found the "new post" button

You certainly have your budget right and shouldn't have a problem getting a later model ABY in good condition for it

As mentioned, take your time to look at a few and when you've got the right one make sure you have a credit card handy, preferably a couple

... and just for the record my mates Impreza mk3 WRX pro-drive got left behind somewhere on the way to subway
