    Hello from Belgïum

    Hi everybody,

i'm Davy from Belgïum, new here on the forum.
    I own a b5 RS4 but just yesterday i bought a S2 Coupe 3B

Completely original car, with 214000 km, maybe a bit mutch but i think these engines can handle that.
Car needs some good cleaning and has a couple of smal defects.

But has leather, heated seats and cruise controle and complete service history, so

Great forum, happy to be here!

214k km is nothing, as long as it's been looked after it should break 300k km, no probs Enjoy the differences between B5 and coupe too

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Don't have any pictures of the S2 yet, cause i havent picked it up yet.
Wil do that this week. I just have some pics of the car, but there the one's from the advert. Car looks a bit more dirty now so needs a very good clean to sort that out.

Just picked her up today, has a couple of minor problems that need sorting out.

The boot lid is squicking like hel, bit of a clunk when on and off throttle.
And i have the feeling like the car isn't performing like it should be, could this have to do with the temp. gauge thats not working all the time?

                    Pictures will folow this weekend.

That's a nice original looking 3B you have there. I like the colour.

Clunking will most probably be the usual worn engine and transmission mounts.

Tailgate squeaks and creaks are well documented too. Have a look here for a start.

The first thing the check regarding the temperature gauge and lack of performance will be the MFTS. Apart from controlling the gauge it also limits boost if faulty. Unplug it temporarily first to see if it is.
Otherwise the usual things apply, check for fault codes, install a boost gauge (even if it just for diagnostics), check for boost leaks.
                          SS

                            Thanks fourwheeldrifter for the info.

So if i understand correct, if i unplug the mfts boost will go back to normal?
Looks like an expencife piece if you order it from audi.

My understanding of what Stu ( 4Wheeldrifter ) is saying is that the MFTS will cut boost on 3B's if it's sensing the water temperature is too high. It's located on the water manifold, beneath the intake manifold. I stand to be corrected here but what you need to know is that if you disconnect it, you might be able to get full boost again but it ideally needs to be connected as a precaution so that your engine doesn't overheat when sitting in traffic for long periods of time as S2's don't need the cooling fan to kick in at all when driving at highway speeds as the cooling system works fine with the oncoming ventilation from the outside but definately DOES need the fan to come in in slow traffic. The fan even has 3 different speeds that the MFTS can trigger : Normal, High and last, what we here call 'Warp Speed" that can basically blow down a toddler walking by
