definitely worth a look - great spec - just needs TLC maybe - though the CAT D is a bit of a worry... good paint is worth a lot though. You can't unbolt bad paint IYGMD.

must say im not a big stagea fan. the 4 door thing. also in wagon versino looks like a pimped ghost busters a bit. nice and tuneable. for me it wouls be the r32gtr with the rb26dett. has quite a few benifits over the 25det. id be looking for a galant vr4 wagon if thats a legnum. cant quite remember.

the urs4 matches the nissan and the s2 avant the galant. dont expect nissan or mitsu performance out of the box but expect a smoother driver, better economy and no jap limiter.

tuning wise - around 3 years ago after my corrado died i looked at a few rx-7's and a few gtr R32's. they would no doubt outhandle the audi. better chassis and setup. they were around as tunable. in slightyl different ways. the biggest inmfluence is cost. as you will know a manifold for a skyline isn't cheap. neither are 2 gt28rs or 2 3071R's. some parts on the engine are a joy in japland. a lot better than audi but the bang for buck the audi won it around id say a grand per 100 hp is hard to beat with an jap car

hope this helps a little ive seen lots of jap and german and each has its merits but the germans are cheaper tuning, insurance and in general purchase proce at this age

don't underestimate how hard the VR4 engined cars are to work on, very cramped engine bay and parts are expensive and had to come by - engine out to change turbo gaskets etc
Also remember there is a "Skyline Tax" on anything with an RB engine code, so parts are expensive and against hard to come by for Stageas over here for a car that was only ever imported... (i quite like their ugliness though )

IMHO get a UrS4 - much cheaper, more reliable and much much better build quality 170k miles is just about run in for an Audi 20vt
          Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt
          Indigo ABY coupé
          Imola B6 S4 Avant

I would'nt worry about it being a cat d,just bid accordingly. There are plenty of cars on the road that have sustained major damage and have no v-car ratings

lmfao, wtf is this meant to be?

thats a base model. many only see the gtr and gtt/gts ranges of the skyline. actually treat them like a ford sierra. theyre are gl models too and the xr4i is the gts/gtt and the cossie the gtr

I was considering a Legnum a few years ago, in the end there were too many bad points than good!
You could just about stretch to an S2 Avant? They are crazy cheap at the moment

Will an S2 Avant take two large Alsations in the boot. Dave was saying the smaller Avants were 'very' small in the boot department - but I wouldn't know from a name which car is which.

I know what people are saying in terms of the bang for the buck idea. I built the TransAm mostly out of scrap (HGV yards) and it makes 600bhp without even trying. Its still less than 100bhp/litre so its running less than stock in terms of Audi turbo tune. The first turbo I used was a Holset off a truck and I gave £50 for it LOL. So from that perspective at least I understand that Audi are perhaps a better long term investment rather than a potential Jap money pit.

I'll have to keep looking but if anyone spots anything suitable please let me know.

Thanks for converting him guys, i don't want to be seen near him driving anything jap, that s why my impreza went.
believe me, they re big dogs he wants to move, but he won t buy my land rover!
urs4 is the choice id go for. ivve had non turbo audis in fro breaking with over 300k on the clock and they ve still driven well

You do of course realise it'll be YOUR FAULT when I start trying to put a truck turbo on an Avant Dave!

that red s6 looked nice, it has the s6+ options, such as no chrome round the grille, windows etc and black door triggers... that must be unusual on a 2,2T??

I've looked at a few pics of Avant S2's and there's no way my dogs would fit in the boot without being pulped in some way. :mischeif: I think its going to have to be an S4 or S6. Does anyone know if there's a major weight/performance difference between the S4 and S6?

Diff between UrS4 and UrS6 is trivial things like trim level, badges and maybe different alloys - they are the same machine mechanically - just rebranded when the Audi 100 became the original Audi A6 - and so the top motor became S6 in that range. Not sure exactly when that happened 1993/94 ?
