Hi... (from Cheshire / Sth Manchester)

    Hi folks

I'm Baggers (Paul), recently registered on here and have spent the last couple of weeks quietly lurking in the background...

Since the start of the year, my everyday bus has been a current-shape VW Passat V6 4Motion . Now used to loving the 'quattro-ness' of the Passat , combined with recently taking part in a 'Wacky Rally' European road trip in a '93 2.0 100E Avant (£250 and drove like a dream), led me to start looking in to URS4s and URS6s...

After all the research this place affords , I've now set my heart on an S2 ABY Coupe as my next 'toy', with the view of upgrading to RS2 spec (turbo, em, intercooler, injectors etc) .

Anyone have, or know of, a suitable example for me?? I've just posted a thread in the Wanted section:

Looking forward to getting to know some of you in due course!

    Cheers, Baggers.

Whoops! I understood my Passat has the 'AWD' system (as per A4, A6 etc), rather than the 'rears kick in when the fronts spin' system (Golf R32, A3, TT etc)...

Forgive me for not being too technical, but it 'squats down and fooks off' in any conditions...

      What have i got??

Your right fella the passat is not the haldex. the passat is based on the A4/A6 set up with the engine in the right formation and not the horizontal haldex way.
Anyway welcome you've come to the right place, hope you enjoy your stay.
Just some finishing touches to do now

Seems you may be correct... According to Wiki, the B5-platform (so, older-shape?) Passat used Torsen, and the B6-platform (so the current shape, oui?) is Haldex.

I may have an early night....

Sorry got a good old slipper wagon. It may be for sale one day, anything is for sale at the right price as they say.

Sorry thought you had a B5 passat? Good luck in your search for a S2

Welcome, where in cheshire does one reside? God I nearly sounded posh then!
You wont fail to be disappointed by an S2, very underestimated and relatively unknown cars suprisingly. Good luck with the search!
