No S2 but a couple of 80 quattros and an a4

Hey guys, thought i'd join up, sites been a valuable resource in the past so thought i might aswell get involved! I live up in the cold North east of Scotland and my current fleet consists of an '03 A4 tdi quattro sport daily driver, and '97 Landcruiser tow car/minibus etc etc. Project wise ive got an old sunny gti as a track car that ive converted to gti running gear (it was my 1st car back in the day, never had the heart to git rid of it), A '90 80 16v quattro sport, its future is hanging in the balance at the moment and a long term project in the shape of a '92 80 2.8e quattro which is in the early stages of a 2.7 bi turbo transplant. There is some s2 bits going in it so im not a total outcast...

Havent got any pics at the moment as i'm offshore but i'll try dig some out when i get home in a couple of weeks. Its white(ish) currently on a set of horrible 90's BK racing 5 spokes and 2 front wings that have been eaten alive with rot. Rest is solid though. Was my old mans toy for years but he had an accident a few years ago (some daft cow in a BMW in the wet) and his feet are stuffed now so hes destined to drive autos for the rest of his days. He always planned to strip it down and fit 1.8 20vt to it but not to be. Im in 2 minds what to do with it myself, would be sad to let it go to the breakers anyway. I ran it for a couple of months about 3 years ago and its 1 of the fastest backroad thrashes ive had, sod all power but sticks to the road like glue compared to the bigger engined quattros!

        Welcome.

Please dont let it go to the breakers. I was looking for a 80q as a project a wee while back and depending on when I start my new job will be looking for one again soon hopefully. I am sure there are plenty other people looking for these for projects so it would indeed be a shame to let it go to the breakers.

        welcome along anyway

I'm doing my best to keep hold of it at the moment don't worry, its still at my folks house though and my mams determined to get it off the drive, currently scouring the land for somewhere to stash it. Anyone up this neck of the woods feel free to fire in some suggestions!

Be warned, its a flippin nightmare! Well, its mabey not that bad but not the easiest thing in the world. Im Putting it down to TSR in England to get it fitted because its way to much hastle to do at home. Hoping to get the engine in over next winter and have it on the road for summer 2011. Even that seems like a long shot, got a parts list the lenght of my arm and it never seems to get any shorter

More of an aspiration, than a definite plan, S2's come first.

Cabrio is the daily driver currently.

                Kind regards.
