HI Everyone,

i brought my s2 2/3 weeks and have been getting used to the forum so thought i would just say hi, put some pics up and ask some questions.

and next thing i want to do is to get that tow bar off!!!!!

I have a few questions for you as i have tried to search and found mixed answers.

First off i had a problem with it getting full boost (only 0.4 - limp mode??) and after searching i found a thread with the same problem. so i tried the fuses s24? ect. with no luck then read to unplug the mfts, and now im getting 0.7 bar of boost.

So i was just wondering what the standard boost of a aby s2 would be?

also where would be the best place to get a new mfts (main dealer!!)

do a boost leak test also, and search around for the "Mark H mod" if the previous owner didnt take care of the eninge etc you probably have an boost leak, think everyone on the forum have had it once..

thanks for the reply just searched for the markh mod and is it just a silicone reducer 70-60mm i need, then bumper off , intercooler off, o-ring out, silicone on, put back together. also is there a guide for it as i could do one when i do mine if not.

For MFTS - they are £100 ball park from Audi/TPS nowadays - which is frankly outrageous. I found a seller on German eBay doing OEM ones for less than £60 delivered. Thats the best price I have found so far... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Probably a good old air leak is all. Don't do anything rash with that towbar - I might want it off thee... I was chasing another one local to me but the trail has gone cold this week.

nice S2 there.

you will realise that a good idea is to have a vag reader for the fault codes. many times the answer is there and there is no point wasting time looking for the answer

That man speaks the truth, but all too often air leaks and knock sensor badness don't show up as faults. So a code reader doesn't always help. You'll need some patience to learn your way around these cars, but there is plenty of free help and advice on here to 'edutain' you for a long time.

Your car looks very familar
Mine is the same colour with the same wheels, just a few other differences though.
If you can get it polished, the colour is gorgeous!!
Where are you located? Someone might be able to help you get the boost problem sorted, and also there is the rolling roday day next weekend, which is an ideal chance to see some other S2's and meet some members (Click link in my sig for info)

Is the keeper of said S2 a keeper of a 'JAW' - ie: coupon like the front o a bus. Or is it just coincedence?

I think almost all the cars arround have a faulty MFTS sensor and some also faulty MAF sensor, so always worth checking.

s2central - Thanks for the link will be buying one asap also ive been reading that your the man to speak to about chipping the ecu - maybe we come to a deal with the towbar lol !!!

Also where is the best place to get a vag reader - ebay!!!

And if anyone has a milltek exhaust for an avant for sale i may be interested.
