    Just bought my first S2

Guys, just bought my first S2 yesterday. Its a standard car with no mods and a full service history.

I flew over to Newcastle yesterday morning and drove the car up to the ferry at Stranraer arriving home yesterday evening. What a drive home , It goes like a rocket and drives superb (slight noise from front brakes which will need investagation).

The answer is 'I just dont know'. As it works out I will be using the car daily for a few months, then I'll decide what to do with it but I would say I will keep it standard. The first thing I will be doing is to refurb the wheels as they do let the car down just a tad.

          Nice looking car. Well wear.

New hangers for rear exhaust box? Pipes a bit low?

          Kind regards.

                Car looks nice mate!!!!

You gota do the 996 brake update....

It's a must do IMHO & put 18" Avus wheels on it with spacers.... Make's the car much safer!!!!!!

It also make's it look soooooooo much better!!

Check out my thread.. http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...ighlight=owned for more info!!

                Anyway to the forum....

This will make owning an S2 much more expensive - Mods updates etc.....

But will save you a fortune in parts!!! & will also make it 100% more fun to own!!!

                    Jamo;

Not that I would ever question someone with your knowledge; but are you sure its been lowered?

1st pic - looks pretty normal to me!!

cheers guys, I dont know if it's been lowered but theres nowt about it in the vast service record. TBH with the past owners I couldn't see it. Brakes, yes, I could be tempted to do something here alright, I'm fairly sure there's something not quite right with the NSF brake anyway. Wheels, yes could be tempted at larger Avus wheels but I really like BBS LM's so they could be a choice as well.

As I say, not sure yet what I'll end up doing just yet but I'll take some time getting to know it first.

I agree with Jamo, it does look lower than standard.

Compared with my 100% original blue one:

Brakes issue is probably a stuck caliper - corroded guide pins. They can be made good again unless they are really badly corroded. The pins are only available new with a new carrier bracket. Seal kits for the calipers are nor expensive. The S2 brakes are fine for road use - its only when pushing hard and prolonged that they show their weaknesses.

Cheers Paul, (and dest too), yeah, I will only ever be using it on the road and the thing is I have already frightened myself a few times in it , I don't claim to be the worlds best driver or anything and this seems more than enough for me. Thats why I wouldnt be in a hugh rush to go modding the car. I'll get used to it as is for a while.

It is the first car that I have had that has sent my pulse racing while driving , most of my cars have been diesel family cars etc.

Everyone wants to keep then stock to begin with... won't last for long. YOu'll ge tused to the power, the brakes will scare you and then you'll see a build thread and think, yeah, I quite fancy some of that...

Looks like a nice spec with the leather.

First upgrade has to be some 996s and 314mm discs under the Avus Alloys, a great stealthy addition to an S2 and it'll still look stock apart from some bright red callipers under the wheels
