    Aloha!

Well here's my obligatory hello, my name's Rich, from Nottingham, I run a flocking a business covering dashboards and such for race & show cars. Just picked up a '92 V6 Coupe Quattro yesterday not quite an S2 I know but I imagine they're largely the same..?

The car is my replacement for the Mondeo I've been driving since April (which actually turned out to be a really really good car surprisingly!) as a runaround while I put 2 engines in my '89 Golf and since it's a car I've wanted for years I couldn't say no for £565!

So far, to say I'm impressed with the Quattro would be an understatement, the thing just goes! It's not especially quick but it just grips, genuinely took me by surprise launching it off the traffic lights for the first time

Anyway, I have problems with the front suspension/subframes so I'll crack on to the relevant section!

    And err hi!

I recognise the name from e38. Welcome to a place where performance is more important than looks!

Will - I'll have Mike, my business partner ring you at some point

iDub - that forum kills me, I'm now banned for the 10th (or so) time, I can't stand the abundant lack of any technical knowledge, or even common sense, it's a forum full of kids and it shows, it's like a bloody playground! We do get a lot of business from there though... This sounds like my kinda forum though, performance > scene points

              Welcome

And flocking the hours i have spent checking over such stuff at work looking for excess glue and bald patches

So do you flock hole cars.. I only ask as my father used to have an E type Jag covered in the stuff and he said the girls went crazy for it "Can i rub your hood"

He said the only problem was when it rained the car felt pretty heavy.

Haha, never thought about car getting heavier! We've not done a whole car yet but we're looking for someone to let us do it (for cheap in exchange for advertising us!) We've done some guys bonnet though and he says women love it because it's comfortable on their a*se during a session

TDi90 - have a look at our website

Welcome, agreed r.e e38. Shame its turned out the way it has
Get some pics of the cq up

Quick question r.e flocking (this is probably going to sound daft but ive no idea how the process works) is it done with the dash out or can it be done in situ?

Flocking could be done in situ but it'd be a crap job and we'd lose a lot of flock, imagine how you do glitter pictures, the glitter only sticks to the glued area and you sweep the rest back up and reuse it - same thing

                        And the Golf

                        which currently looks like -

Almost ready to mount the rear engine

Are you on a VW forum Gav? PVW maybe? Your sig looks familiar...

It's going to be twin engined with a pair of bike carbed 16v's, that's what's already in the front - a 6a from a B3 80 donor I bought, with ZX9R carbs, KR cams and a lightened fly which makes 170bhp. The rear engine will only be a KR to start with but will go 2.0 eventually

                              It's a tatty bag of *** really

I was a little excited after the first pull it only made 140bhp a few days previous and all I'd done was set the mixture properly to gain 30bhp!

I just happened to have a spare 16v engine with everything attached, box, clutch, fly, hubs, brakes, suspension and my mate crashed his MK3 so I had the subframe, driveshafts and all the rest of the wide track bits out of that aaannd a rusty shell which was doomed anyway so I thought it'd be rude not to

So far the project has cost me £14 for 3m of box section, and all I need is one engine mount and a steering rack and I have everything I need to finish it!

I could really have finished it by now if I wasn't so damn lazy
