    Hi from NI!

Hi all! Been lurking for some time... and well, the time approches where I must pull the trigger and upgrade to a S2.

I suspect I may know some on here - as I've been on some of the other Audi forums for a while. I've a B4 2.6 V6 Coupe which is my pride 'n joy... but the S2 itch continues to nag at me... so its time to start my research properly with a view to finding one in the coming year or 2. I cant afford the change right now - but have started a drip feed to a secret place (as I'm sure those of you with other 1/2's will understand )

I've yearned after the 5 pot warble since driving a B3 2.2 10V coupe back in the day which belonged to my brother in law. Theres a nice C20VQ for sale at the mo... which DOES tempt me - but I'll just end up wishin I'd held off for the daddy!

I'd be really interested to hear from those of you who've upgraded from the V6 coupe. For me, its still a debate in my head as to whether spending double money (or more!) is worth the spend. I've never had the pleasure of driving an S2 - so perhaps if I had, this debate would be kicked to touch once and for all.

Typical newbie sort of questions are rattling about in my head... what budget for a clean original 6sp S2? I'm hoping that £4k will secure a clean one.

Anyway - I'll be back to lurking mostly, but just thought I'd say hello anyway - and heres a couple of shots of my V6 for ya

    Johnny

    Very nice!
I would highly recommend picking up a standard interior to swap into the Coupe before selling, then you can put the Recaro's in the S2
4k should get you a decent one Id of thought

You're not the first to say that!... and youre quite right. They make my car - and are the sole reason I've backed out of selling it before now.

The V6 is a great engine - silky smooth. It goes well but if you want to hustle along, you do need to rev it. However, its smooth right up the rev band - and has a lovely note above 4k. I'm taking the middle box off next month - so I can hear it sing a bit better!

MPG wise, I've honestly never worked it out! Its a weekend toy - so its not a concern as such. Prev owner said he got 30-33mpg average with a sensible foot. I've heard others report such mileage but if you're in town a lot, I'd expect low 20's.
