Mine had severe rust on the rear tie arm bracket. Have a good poke around on them if at all possible.

Coilover choices are limited somewhat, as are lowering springs and uprated dampers. Pretty much all permutations have been tested and everyone seems to have their own favourites. There are poly and delrin bushed available to upgrade the suspension, oh, and alloy ones too. Depends what you're after really.

Keeping the car in top condition takes money but something roadworthy will work out pretty good VFM, it's when you go chasing perfection , be it road, track or race car that the costs come in big and fast!

      Hi Agent Audi,

I have a car for you but the price is not right, it is rust free, still under the Audi service plane for another 500km.

Its a 1996 that has done just 99500km 62187 miles since new, it requires a new front wing some idiot backed into it other than that it is original.

The work that has been done on the car was by Audi agents only and it was all done under the 100,000km plan unlimited time, all documentation is available.

This is a car I bought for my son but in his wisdom he took my A4 B7 2.0T when I bought my S4 B7 4.2.

I can honestly say the S2 is in a very good condition.

This is the link were it can be viewed http://www.autostart.co.za/adds/audis2.htm

The up side to this is the car is in South Africa come for a holiday and drive it back.

He is asking about 10,000 pounds for the car.

Well thats the going rate in South Africa, if I recall correctly there are only 10 or 20 in this country and well it is a very nice car even if the metal is getting on a bit, its a bit like gold the older it gets the more you pay for it.

Anybody know how many S2 were made world wide a figure of 1380 was mentioned on one of the forums I visit.

3500 Pounds buys quite a bit of beer in SA come for the world cup, that equals about 5384 pints of castle larger how long could that last a student??

Could also be used as a deposit!!!! Beer car car beer so many choices, indeed you have a hard decision to make.

Good luck with your hunt the S2 is a great car you will enjoy it just get the right one.

Forget about sending cars to South Africa. Import permits and duties make it an almost impossible task.

In South Africa S2's can trade between BPS 10K for a modified car to BPS 6K. All depends on what exchange rate is used.

Used parts are however a different story. Because we have so few S2's, that were sold in South Africa parts are difficult to get. I have a big web portal in SA (Auto Start) and get requests for parts from time to time. S2, S4, URQ and other parts, so if any one has parts avialble let me know, I will see if we can find buyers in SA. Freight is not cheap.

I have two S2's one of which is getting a V8 transplant. Two threads on this forum :-Silver S2 and V8 into S2

Currently working on the import of new windscreens for old Audi's.
