    rough running S2 Avant

H there, further greetings from France.
Live in rural Brittany, where there is more interst in tractors than performance cars.
Have a 1995 S2 Avant (150000 miles, ABY engine ) which is causing problems at the moment.
A few weeks ago it started running a bit uneven, when driving normally - it still accelerates well but will not run smoothly when not pushed. Local garage diagnosed new plug caps and a new coil for No1. These were duly replaced as well as new plugs.
The problem still persists, and local garage has taken it to nearest Audi dealers, who also cannot diagnose the problem. Engine compression is all OK, so it looks like some sort of electrical problem. Could it be the Hall sensor?
    Would welcome any suggestions.
    Regards, Dave W

Have you had the POS's checked?
Do a search for POS and you'll find all the info needed.
Audi S2 Avant, 1995, ...and it begins with a Homefry
Audi 80 Sport, 1986, ...my first car...wish I still had it

      Hi Haaran,
Thanks for your reply, but can you define what POS's are.
      Regards Dave W

Power Output Stage....Ignition amplifiers, there are 2 of them, and each has 3 channels so there is a spare channel if you happen to have one pack up and have a constant misfire on one cylinder. I have had to swap mine for similar reasons in the past, although I also has a loose earth wire to the inlet manifold causing spark problems, look for broken coil wires....
