    Hiya from Devon and Cornwall

Hello everyone...I have been on here for about 12 months but been a bit of a sleeper and enjoyed reading the threads etc....Anyway, I have a 95 S6 Avant in Ragusa green and I have literally just brought a 92 S4 saloon in Pearl white which was local to me and came up for sale and I couldnt say no!!
I love these cars and they just seem to get better and better with every drive.
I have seen a few in Ragusa but not many in Pearl white.....so the question is, has anyone else got a pearl s4 or s6?
    Cheers

          Howdy!

I have an S6 avant in a similar colour; Emerald green, and a UrS4 avant in Indigo blue. Seem to be thin on the ground up here in the midlands, but quite a few down south.
          Are yours manual or auto?

            Hiya
They are thin on the ground.
Found the S6 up in Surrey a few years back and the S4 came up in North Devon very recently but originally again came from Surrey.
The S4 was featured in Autocar magazine in 1992 so its good to have some previous record/history of it.
S6 went straight through the MOT yesterday with one advisory so with half a million miles on it and being 15 yrs old, I cant complain
Have a few minor things to do on the S4 but nothing too major.
I see that S4 you brought had emissions problems didnt it?
I brought my emmissions down by changing from 0/ 30 oil to 10/30, worked a treat and a cheap fix, brought it right down to be honest, spot on to what it should be.
I am reliablly informed that the emmissions test will fall from the MOT test in the not to distant future as manufacturers now have to manufacture vehicles with low emmisions for tax purposes so its not worth MOT stations testing.
It will be down to the testers common sense i.e if its pumping out loads of thick smoke then it will fail, which makes sense.
Both are manual and the S4 has the usual whine in first gear but I am sure I can live with that as 2nd is torquey enough to pull away and my fast start days are over.
Great cars, love them to bits
BTW, that S4 was a tidy buy, thought about it myself but this Pearl one came up and I love Pearl.

Yes it does have an emissions problem, yet to properly look at, it JUST scraped an MOT due to the levels allowed for a pre cat test (which this car is just). I suspect one of three things; blocked breathers, tired turbo or stem seals, at 202k it could be any!

My S6 sings like a straight cut box in first, but will wait till it breaks then put a V6 S4 box in it.
