urS4 and urS6 are virtually identical both C4 chassis.

Beerbelly's S6 is spotless, and is runs an MTM hybrid turbo, fairly sure he had it on the RR recently and was over 300bhp. And there just arent a lot for sale as they are A rare and B tend to be kep by owners for the duration because they are genuinely a really good all rounder. Drives really well even compared to modern machinery. There was a red one that went up and sold nearly instantly. My own own car passed 198,000 yesterday with 200 in sight next month. Suspension took a battering last year, be careful as some parts are hard to find, like front wings for example!

S6plus... now thats a different kettle of fish all together, never imported to the UK, 326bhp V8 at £4-6k i would plump for that imho. The first ever quattro GMBH car I would have a read here if you want something special this maybe it. And if you dont i wouldnt mind a pm on where you saw them!!! Only ever saw one for sale in the UK two years ago for £10k. http://www.s6plus.de/ But be careful there were V8 S4 and S6's in LHD that were not plus'es.

        Forgot to add.
Here are the figures for Audi UK sales for various quattros, which include the S2, S4 and S6 and variants such as avant and manual.
As can be seen, there were not many sold in the UK and it is unknown how many are left....I would say..Not many!!!

Well colin, im about in the same boat as you mate, has to be an avant, and leaning more towards a URS4 than a S2, but the auto S6 is tempting me, not too bothered about massive power gains, ill be getting that going from a NA 2.3!

As long as the tuning bug doesnt bite, ill be happy with a standard "s" to shower with affection!

Was supposed to view that last Sunday but someone beat me to it. Looks like you got a good deal on that. H&R coilovers, RS6 wheels, refurbished brakes etc. May be an auto but a lot of car for under £1500

There is another auto on Pistonheads that looks good at 1,995. Was sold on there a month or two at the same price so sure this is a bit of haggling to be done too

I'm unexpectedly moving house mid February so that is taking priority at the moment

Beerbelly's does look great value just a shame its not in the UK. Think his site shows RR printout for 315hp or so.

S6 Plus still appeals. Have been given details via my brother in law who works for Audi and is heavily involved with the dealer network over there so getting one would be simple enough as they are rare but easy to get in Germany, in comparison to even getting an S6 in the Uk

My personal opinion of the auto box is that it is slightly long in the gear ratio's only being 4 speed but having driven both auto's and manuals I see no reason why not to go for an auto as they tend to be much cheaper to buy in the first place and can hold 300bhp pretty reliably.
They also seem to have led a much easier life as their owners tend not to hammer them about as much as you would a manual. My only criticism would be the slipping between gears. Rectify this with a chip as it makes the oil pressure in the box higher, therefore reducing slip. And also returning better mpg.
I get between 22 and 28mpg and my normal driving is short journeys to work and back with the occasional long distance run.
Don't dismiss the auto is the moral of the story!!!
