    Hi all

    Hi everyone,

Being lurking around here for a little while and posted a couple of times recently but thought I'd better say hello.

Recently sold my Corrado VR6 which was my baby/money pit/love of my life (see below) but now I'm looking for an S2 and want to focus more on the performance side of things rather than looks this time around.

Anyway, hoping to be an S2 owner soon at which time I'll feel like I've genuinely joined the ranks!

    Cheers all

I don't care if you spent over 16hrs on photoshop with those Corrado pics - it looks well tasty alright.

Good luck finding a tidy S2 - you have come to the right place... though deep pockets and much TLC will be required to get the average S2 into similar photogenic condition... ahhhh maybe 20hrs on photoshop - 30hrs for mine - LOL.

        Seriously welcome though Jackflash.

          Jack,

Welcome, had a G60 for a while and liked it. Just curious, without wanting to be nosey, what's the reason you've been prompted to switch from Corrado to an S2.

It's the right decision by the way.

Ask the forum about any cars you are eyeing up in case it is known, or people will be able to point out something you might have missed.

          Kind regards.

I did the same trade, sold my 'rado VR6 and ended up in an S2. Much as I loved the Corrado, I've never looked back. Good luck in your search!

                Cheers all.

@David in Dublin - couple of reasons really but the main one being that the Corrado was obviously FWD. I really fancied a turbo'd VR6 lump but if I had gone that route I would have wanted to convert it to 4WD which would have ended up costing mental amounts of money and also would have meant cutting up half the car. Also tbh I just fancied a change!

@S2 Central - thanks for the welcome but I can assure you that the photoshopping has actually been kept to a minimum. It was shot by a company called Flow Images in Bristol who take multiple shots from the same angle, with slightly different lighting in each shot. They then overlay the best lit sections from each shot onto the master. They don't 'paint' the picture at all. Here's a few 'au naturel' photos if you don't believe me. At the end of the day you don't awards at shows for photoshopping...!

@jack - I was only winding you up. I could tell the photos had been digitally tweaked somehow but no doubt the car is minty in the flesh. I did once drive a G60 Corrado ages ago - much more like a go kart than the S2 - you will notice quite a difference in dynamics as the S2 is a heavy old beast, but the all weather traction, mighty torque and 20VT soundtrack more than make up for it IMHO.

Ha no worries, I'm just being precious!

Yeah I expect it to be quite different, it's the traction I'm looking forward to really, the Corrado was a great steer but could get surprisingly light at the rear for a FWD car with the coilovers on

Have to admit though, I haven't heard a 20VT that I think sounds better than the VR6 (cue howls of disagreement I'm sure!)

Oh boy you are so wrong on the engine noise - you cannot come over here with your shiny rado and say it sounds better - the sacrilege - everybody know that the 20VT is one of the sweetest sounding motors on song ever produced. A big block V8, an Italian V12 and a WW2 Merlin engine would be in the same league, but a VR6 - err no sir - not on your nelly. I bet you change your mind, when you come to the dark side of S2 ownership. LOL

nice Corrado you had there, and they sure sound great those VR6's, for me it is in the same league as 5-pot noise. I think the 10V NA 5-pot sounds better than the 20VT though.
